It doesn't really have to do with the photo... (but it happened tonight)
I got back late tonight from work and found out DJ had come up earlier with my mom...
So I missed all the awake time with my lil buddy....All I really got to do tonight was do this!
The only person in the world I know will smile like clock-work when I walk in the room!

God I love that kid....

Look at that smug self satisfied smile. He knows he has the world by the tail at just 6 months. Dianna got the email yesterday: DJ's modeling career has begun with a photo shoot for Macy's. We are pretty floored by the whole idea because we decided to do it for fun. We never thought much would come of it at first. At his interview he actually didn't even smile. Destiny has wrapped her arms around my son and we will see where it takes him.

On to bigger and better things.
(PS DJ isn't this just the cutest photo ... he smiled for like 2 seconds and I caught it)

Everyday I look at my little "love bug" and I still can't believe we made this beautiful little boy! People say I spoil him when I hug and kiss him too much, but you know what? Soon he'll be too big for me to hug and kiss him, so I need to get as much as I can right now!

Next week DJ goes in for his 6 month appointment and we'll know his statistics. But for now, this little guy started eating solids a few weeks ago -- and he is an eater!! Whole containers of solids plus wash it down with half a bottle.

He can roll over, likes to jump in his jumpster (thanks Geri!), demolishes his toys, and is starting to sit up! Dom practiced sitting up with him last weekend because DJ had an "audition" with Macy's!

We checked out a seminar on "breaking into" the industry for fun and while we were registering, they asked about DJ -- height, weight, etc. Then they say, "Great! He has an interview with Macy's tomorrow in San Francisco. Can you make it?" Of course we can make it! We went, DJ was great and did really well sitting up, but I think a little too young, so he didn't get the job! Oh, well... next time!

Every moment we spend apart brings us closer together.... I feel like a newlywed most times when I come home. Even with our pretty boy addition to the family. You are a great mother and an excellent wife. I don't stop often enough to buy flowers or say I love you. I did getcha a couple massages in the last couple of months, but that was to say thank you for taking care of DJ. The smile I give you when I walk into a room is because you love me unconditionally... 7 years strong and counting.... Sushi this weekend...and TACO night.... with Jose Cuervo and beer.....Love ya hunny 4 ever and a day

So its been almost a month since we wrote anything. Life has been hectic. August is always crazy because my grandmother and I both have birthdays in August. So here are the quick highlights. Tahoe was fun. Me and DJ had a beer together and spent a lot more time together than we do on a daily basis. I had a blast... I think I almost cried when it was time to go back to work. Gosh I love that kid. I checked the percentile charts and my son is all head and length. He is 90th something percentile for his head size and for his length. This leads to him being in the 50% percentile in weight so he looks like a big kid but he isn't very big. The crazy part about this is that he was born in the 5% percentile of everything. Most people aren't numbers people but I like reading this stuff...

Last but not least. He can roll over. He also has a standing/rotating command center in the middle of the family room. He loves to just stand up and rotate around and play with all his Baby Einstein toys.

As of today, DJ is 16 pounds and 25.5 inches long!! He is a smart little man!! He loves to stand on his feet and pretend to walk! When Dominic laughs, he laughs! It is so heart warming to hear your baby's laughter. I tell him every day that he is my little angel because ever since my mother passed away, he has blessed my life. I don't know what I would do without him. Stay tuned... in 3 weeks he starts rice cereal!

As DJ is now three months old I find myself reflecting on the life of my son. The special moments that have occured in his development. When he first smiled and recognized when his father was is in the room. The most special moment for me thus far is watching DJ with his great grand parents. My grandfathers smile when he holds his great grandson should be framed and put on the wall. It was a shade blurry due to the light in the room, but a classic moment with DJ and his great grand father. We love you Papa!

Boys and there toys is an amazing thing. It doesn't matter if it is trucks or blocks as a child, or laptops and xbox360 as an adult. Almost three months ago my son was born and he is the apple of my eye. He is my favorite toy that belongs to me. Babies are not toys. They are more fragile and delicate, but nothing beats a baby for fun and entertainment value. They are the toy that keeps on giving and taking. Hence watching DJ have tummy time was like playing with my favorite toy. He hates it and this is the resulting face. I count the minutes till I can see you again! (The Love of a Father)

This is mommy's "Baby Love", "Love Bug", "Lovey Dovey"... My poor baby will never learn his name because mommy calls him different names!! DJ is doing tummy time... he hates it so much!! You can tell by the look on his face that he's saying, "Get me off my stomach now!" DJ is now 10 weeks old -- 14.5 lbs, 22.5 inches.

It's Thursday morning and life is good. My mommie weighed me yesterday and I am 12lbs and almost 2 months old. My social calendar seems to be filling up. I have a baby shower and a birthday party to attend this weekend in the Bay Area. The other day I amazed mommy and daddy by drinking 7oz of milk. On Tuesday I get my first shots from my buddy Doctor Wong. Life is good.

Time flies when you try to fit 5 years into a year. Current tally in one year: I proposed, we got married, we moved out of the Bay Area, we bought a house, we landscaped our backyard, furnished our new house, got pregnant, and had our first born son. A lot to do in such a short period of time. Needless to say I am happy and exhausted. More DJ posts to come...

Free time is a luxury when you have a newborn at home so I apologize for being so late on the blog entries. I posted DJ's 1st week on my flickr account. Here is the link to photos of his first week. Eventually I will put links to the sets of photos I take. When time permits. Baby is doing great. This first week was so crazy for us as new parents. Our child loves to sleep 20 hours out of the day. When I say day, I mean DAY. He is up every three hours of the night. Fun parent stuff. More later.

I felt like such a parent at that moment when I packed him up to bring him home. Wow Crazy Overwhelming Dad Feelings. I think I have thought about what kind of dad I would be since I was like 16 when I had my first driving incident and had to go home and talk to my father. Or was it even earlier than that. I have always wanted to be a family man and I smile probably 75% of the day. (25% I am either sleep or drowsy because of sleep deprivation). Last night I didn't go to bed until 5AM, mostly my fault because I was editing photos. This Link is to photos of DJ's Birth to CarRide Home. The next four will contain pictures up until babies first month has passed. After that I will drop back to monthly. Thanks to everyone for all the kind words.

Hi all

I just wanted to announce that Dominic Brotarlo Williams Jr. was born on 03/21/06 @ 12:15 a.m. He was a healthy baby boy weighing 5lbs 15ounces and about 17" long. (Click the picture to see a bigger version)

I am on my way back to the hospital, but I wanted to share our joy with you.... I don't have time to edit through the pictures so you get to see practically every photo I took.

My mother-in-law passed away on Thursday night prior to her youngest daughters wedding. We are all dealing with our grief in our own way. This was an idea I thought of after the wedding was over and I was alone with my thoughts. I found her name placard from the head table. We had a picture of her from our wedding last year. My wife was the matron of honor and she carried it down the aisle and sat it next to my father-in-law. It is a sad time for our family, but I thought this was something I needed to write. Are you ready for the weekend?! I know I am, or am I. The honey do list is long because I have been away from home for essentially 2 weeks. The crib and dresser arrived yesterday so that has to be put together. The pool table is coming on Saturday... i get to watch that get put together. 4 weeks to go as of the 28th. Time keeps on slipping. The picture is from the 4th of February when my best man had this great house warming party in San Francisco. It was a blast.

Thank GOD it's Friday...
Oh who am I kidding I am @ work this Friday. It is a BABY SHOWER weekend. First one on the list of 3 that are currently scheduled. This one is being put on my by sister-in-law..... Big Thanks to Karen... We love you for coming out from Vegas to do this for us. Life is good. My wife is happy and you know what they say. When Mama's happy... Pappa's happy. Dominic Jr. Countdown has reached 32 weeks. 8 more to go. The euphoria of New Years is Gone.... Most of my resolutions have fallen from my thoughts. It's back to praising Friday for coming so fast. Have you ever realized how much you can actually fit into a year. Here is Dianna at week 28. In the background our first Christmas tree together. We had an awesome Christmas and a Happy New Year. The backyard is almost complete. The crib comes next week. Superbowl this weekend. Go Steelers...!!!

My wife says that all updates shutdown once I found out I was having a boy. It really shut down when I got the news that Dominic Jr. was his NAME-O....wow What an Honor. The holidays were great. [Dom] I can't tell you how much agony not knowing has put me thru....

Calling my child it... Interchanging He and She... Coming up with Girl Names... Coming up with Boy Names... Oh the torture... Finally the day has come!!! but oh what a day it was....

First the appointment got resceduled back 2 more agonizing hours of waiting and at a facility further away due to technical difficulties... So we start the appointment and the technician asked if we wanted to know... OF COURSE we want to know Geez..

So about 3 minutes into the examination he goes... Do you want to guess?! I looked at him sideways like WHAT are asking me... and then I got the joke... He was pointing with an arrow on the screen... ITS A BOY... Woohoo... little DOM is on the way... BOYS outnumber the girl in the house...

So for about 3 hours I had a smile on my face. You couldn't slap it off my face. We are both very happy. We wanted to share with family and friends....

Our special day has come and gone. Dom n Di became officially Mr. & Mrs. Williams @ 4pm April 25th, 2005. We wish you could have been there. It was a beautiful and crisp day and it was an incredibly smooth weekend and fun was had by all who were able to attend considering we had a month to plan! It was actually our "FAILED" attempt to elope. This is a short post to begin to share our journey with our friends, family, and let those who could not make it to our wedding share in our day.
